ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Catherine Hulme. I am an experienced and fully qualified Executive and Wellbeing Coach. I’m also a qualified Coaching Supervisor.

I help people to make changes in their personal and professional lives, to realign themselves with their core values, greatest strengths and deepest aspirations.

With a wide range of experience in the corporate and education sector, my passion for supporting people’s personal and professional development led me to establish North Star Coaching in 2017. Since then, I have worked in a combination of coaching positions, including:

  • Executive and Wellbeing Coach for individual clients.
  • Consultant Career Coach delivering outplacement support for large organisations such as HSBC.
  • Leadership and Development Coach for schools, building sustainable coaching cultures through immersive training and accreditation.
  • Coaching Supervisor for trained coaches seeking to develop their practice through reflective professional dialogue.
  • Accredited Practitioner of Clarity4D personality profiling.

My core values:

I see equal worth and beauty in everyone; I remain open-minded and non-judgemental with a view to deeply understanding an individual and their unique perspective on the world.

I am strongly driven towards proactivity; let’s face our challenges, recognise our talents (which I see as the gifts we bring to the world), and take responsibility for creating a better reality for ourselves and others.

I was brought up to “always try your best”; this involves some pain of failed attempts, but without those, we don’t get the joy of learning, experiencing and achieving something new.

I value work and play equally; life should be fun, as well as professionally fulfilling. Dedicating time to freely-chosen activity is vital to our health and happiness as we re-create ourselves.

What Catherine's clients have said...

“It feels good to be listened to properly and not be rushed into saying anything. I like the way Catherine recalls our previous conversation in an appropriate way and sometimes stops and repeats

her understanding of what I have said. This enables me to feel heard and understood whilst also making me feel supported in a non-judgmental way.”

Career Coaching client

“Often when you have a conversation, the other person has things they want to get across but the coaching conversation was purely about what I wanted to talk about...

Catherine allowed me to
explore things without feeling rushed and responded to what I spoke about rather than having any alternative agenda that we had to get through.”

Executive Coaching client

“Coaching is a great way to consider issues that perhaps we don’t ordinarily make space for in a busy day. Everyone should have a coach!””

Personal Coaching client

“I ended up, as I have with all of the sessions, with a list of small, achievable actions and the confidence that I had come up with those ideas, I had just needed some support to refine my thinking into things I could achieve. One of the things I listed was actually just seeking reassurance that I was doing the right thing but it felt good to have had the opportunity to articulate this rather than grappling about whether I should do that or not.”
